Willy Willy
EXIF Data
FOCAL LENGTH: 5.8 mm
APERTURE: f/5.6
SHUTTER: 1/400 sec
ISO: N/A
I was taught that these were called “Willy Willy’s”… in that they are like a four hundredths of five eights of 6 tenths of a tornado. Basically a swirling wind… but this one did look pretty swirling away on the sand dune. Of course, I missed the really good shot… while I was fumbling for the camera and caught it as it was dying off…
Winter Sunset over Noosa River
EXIF Data
FOCAL LENGTH: 5.8 mm
APERTURE: f/2.8
SHUTTER: 1/500 sec

A sunset shot taken over Noosa River on the weekend just past. Winter always feels brisk and fresh, no matter where you are – but I guess we don’t have it so bad afterall!!
Water’s Fog
EXIF Data
FOCAL LENGTH: 5.8 mm
APERTURE: f/2.8
SHUTTER: 1/320 sec

Another shot taken in the Fog outside the National Gallery in Canberra. I have a perverse liking for taking pictures at ground level and always like the way they turn out.
Sunsets over the beaches…

FOCAL LENGTH: 5.8 mm
APERTURE: f/5.6
SHUTTER: 1/1000 sec

Now, this photo illustrates the limitations of the tiny little IXUS. No super wide angle lens, so left with photo stitch. When you don’t pay the best attention on taking the shots, the angles of your stitch change and you are left with a whole heap of the blur tool in photoshop.
Despite not being happy with the post-production work I did to stitch these two shots together, I decided to still post it up – purely as the sunset was spectacular and the clouds provided quite a dramatic sky.

APERTURE: f/2.8
SHUTTER: 1/125 sec

Another shot from the gardens surrounding the National Gallery in Canberra. I liked the way the mist enveloped the carved statues, it gave the whole scene a very ancient feel.

This shot was taken in the grounds surrounding the National Art Gallery in Canberra, Australia. It was a particularly cold and wet day, and the mist was produced by the airconditioning venting system.
Ended up providing some effective cover for a range of shots, more to come
