A shot of the fire that swept through Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast on the weekend. The cause is as yet unknown, this shot was taken from the front yard of a house as the fire moved away from it. A lot of worried people were a two lane road away from losing their properties at one point.

Luckily no one was lost in the blaze.

Unfortunately, I recently lost the stolenpixel.com website including all photographs and comments. This was one of a few images that I was able to find and restore to the site.

I took this photo in-between helping the firey’s douse this blaze with water. The fire was just over the back fence and started by children fooling around with matches in the summer heat. I remember being under-equipped for the work.. my thongs burnt through and I ended up with large burns on my feet.. but it was worth it to help save the properties surrounding the blaze. My first attempt at “photo journalism”.
