This shot is directly linked to the recent shot of the main beach at Port Douglas. This photograph features the creator of all those little sandy balls, Mr Ghost Crab.
While a massive fan of the beach, I am lucky enough to be able to say that I’ve never had crabs. More than happy to photograph some crustaceans though.

I love photos of hands. This is one of a few I have taken – the subject matter being the thrown away claw of a Fiddler Crab.

This little crab was discovered hiding as far into a rock crack as he could get, at the water’s edge: Kings Beach Caloundra.

Patience was necessary to get a close-up macro shot of this Fiddler Crab. They are very timid and it took a reasonable stint perched outside his hole before he was brave enough to come say “G’Day!” – it was also sandfly central – so I hope you appreciate the shot.. I itched for weeks.

This crab was found wallowing in a small, sandy ravine at the waters edge on Kawana Island. I don’t know his particular species – but loved his eyes.. they remind me of pearls.
