I love photos of hands. This is one of a few I have taken – the subject matter being the thrown away claw of a Fiddler Crab.

Patience was necessary to get a close-up macro shot of this Fiddler Crab. They are very timid and it took a reasonable stint perched outside his hole before he was brave enough to come say “G’Day!” – it was also sandfly central – so I hope you appreciate the shot.. I itched for weeks.

This crab was found wallowing in a small, sandy ravine at the waters edge on Kawana Island. I don’t know his particular species – but loved his eyes.. they remind me of pearls.
