This photo was, like some of the other recent photos on SP, taken at Port Douglas. It captures some of the dramatic sky that loomed in the distance as a storm rolled into town.
Appropriate really.. This weekend, I hope the Melbourne Storm rolls out the title of 2007 premiers.
*edit: and they did!

This shot is directly linked to the recent shot of the main beach at Port Douglas. This photograph features the creator of all those little sandy balls, Mr Ghost Crab.
While a massive fan of the beach, I am lucky enough to be able to say that I’ve never had crabs. More than happy to photograph some crustaceans though.

Here is another shot from my recent trip to Port Douglas. Taken near the mouth to the inlet on the way to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef near the Coral Sea.

I recently was lucky enough to travel to Port Douglas and was able to take a couple of nice shots while I was there.. so there will be more to come over the next few days. This is a shot taken at ground level, experimenting with depth of field.
All the little balls are the work of the Ghost Crabs that inhabited the beach – a macro of them to come…
